About
Charles Nyafouna is originally from Kaleane, in the Ziguinchor region. He grew up between his native village and Dakar, where he obtained his baccalaureate at Collège Moderne Jean de La Fontaine. After earning a Bachelor’s degree at Cheikh Anta Diop University, he began his career in Gabon as an English teacher at Lycée Ntchorere in Libreville. In 2005, he moved to the United Kingdom and became a British citizen. He pursued legal studies and joined the British civil service, including the National Office of Statistics, where he held responsibilities related to migration surveys at Heathrow and the census in Kensington and Chelsea. He later deepened his legal training in London, earning a Master’s degree and a Higher Diploma in Legal Practice, specializing in property law, business law, and civil litigation. He currently serves as a Legal Advisor at the Ministry of Justice in London. Within SENEGEL, he chairs the Advisory Council, provides non-executive strategic guidance, and contributes to the organization’s ethics, compliance, visibility, and institutional development.
